Al utilizar Hardy original, algunas tarjetas de red como la Realtek r8168 no funcionan. Recomiendo esta solución: En lugar del utilizar el driver r8169 que se distribuye con Ubuntu (que está roto), es mas conveniente utilizar el driver r8168 que distribuye Realtek.

PHC ACPI_CPUFreq module patch

I describe my preliminary activities setting up and using the Linux Processor Hardware Control patch to the ACPI CPU Frequency module. I briefly discuss compilation of the module for x86_64, and talk about its use. I mention the MSR Info utility which you can compile and use to monitor the effectiveness of the HPC module. For those who don’t like to compile, I offer an x86_64 ubuntu package by which you can install the utility.

The Realtek r8168 network card does not work out of the box in Hardy. modprobe loads the r8169 module. A solution is to use a patched version of the r8168 driver provided by Realtek.

My old laptop, a Compaq nx 9010, was old and weak, but then it also became stolen, too. So, I’ve put in an order for a Dell Vostro 1310.
