Jameson Williams’ Music
Feel free to stream some of my music. You can also browse through a complete library of all of my recordings, most of which are bits and pieces of songs of highly varying quality. There may be some references to my music on Google.
Formal Education
I started the guitar at age eight, and took lessons mainly with Dan Cademartori until about age fourteen. I also attended several weeks at the National Guitar Workshop, and took several courses in college. I have taken piano and voice lessons, as well.
Live Performances
I joined my first band at age eleven, and left my last band at age twenty. I have played shows in most of New England and the Mid-Atlantic states of America, most recently with my band “The Prime Meridian.”
Here are a few of the highlights of my career performing music:
- Backing guitar at a show for Chad Urmston of Dispatch
- Three performances at T.T. the Bear’s Place, Cambridge, MA
- Friday night gig at the Elbow Room, New York City
- Booked at numerous Boston clubs like Middle East (Upstairs), All Asia.
A few of the musicians with whom I performed most are Will Szabo, Josh Staines, and Jack Ludden.
Physical Transducers
I play an 1998 Fender Big Apple American Stratocaster through a JCM2000 DSL50 tube amplifier on a JCM900 1960A 4×12 slant enclosure. I have had this stuff since before high school. The JCM2000 head was my favourite worldly possession for about eight straight years.
For recording I have generally used Cakewalk Sonar software, with Fruity Loops electronic percussion. An Shure SM57 is good enough for a mic, usually - keeps a lo-fi indie sound that the girls love.
