Blogtronix: Part Dux
“Uggg! Jameson, you spelled Deux wrong. Don’t you have any culture or class?”
- You
Yea brah, well, I mean blogtronix isn’t a word either. If you want to get into the pedantry of my rhetoric, we can. So, what is this, exactly; some sort of blog? Yes. This is the second iteration of a series of blogs from Austin, TX: Blogtonix.
- So, Jameson, what’s been up, lately, bro?
- Kickin’ it brah.
- Jameson, if you don’t cut the nonsense, I’m going to stop reading this document.
- Kk. Let’s rock.
Upcoming Travel and Study Plans
I have a week left here in Tejas. I’m leaving Friday, August 22nd at 12:00pm CDT from Austin, arriving in Boston a little before 7:00pm EDT. (Are we still on EDT or do we do EST these days?) Well either way, 7:00pm in Boston.
Then I’m going down to Lehigh the day after or the following day. I booked some work hours today and revamped my Google calendar (check it out). After a long hiatus, I am once again organizing my life electronically. My first memory of the word hiatus was when I was fourteen or so, perusing the At the Drive-In website, as one does.
Man, Remember the Old Times?
“At the Drive-In [REDACTED] indefinite hiatus.”

What a bummer.
San Marcos, San Antonio
I went to these places. I saw my housemate Jared’s bluegrass band play at Lucky’s in San Marcos. Texas State looks like has a pretty cool campus. It’s a small town, but it’s well cultivated and there appears to be quite a decent blend of the availability of entertainment and the opportunity to retreat to the beauties of vast greenery.
San Antonio is big and spread out and has a ridiculous network of highways. You, I don’t think, could live there without a car. I went to some bars, saw the Alamo, and the River Walk with Maria. We ran into this kid we knew from Austin while we were there; it was wild style. Everybody from Texas likes to downplay the Alamo, and I won’t say it was life-transforming, but it was cool to cross that off the list. Imagine this absolutely pathetic possibility that I could previously have endured:
- Jameson, you have been to the Alamo, haven’t you?
- Er, well, not per say… but I’ve been to Europe and Central America -
- Shut the fuck up.

Thankfully, I have gained adequate protection from those sorts of assaults.
Something Entirely Different
I’ve been coding a lot of C this summer at the Lab. C and C++ are so very different; this is something you sort of realize at some point, but after a summer writing in C, you realize that they are entirely different languages. Well, let’s not get too extreme. (Almost) Everything is C if you look close enough. And comparatively, C++, I suppose, is aptly named. Will be writing a lot of it next semester. Basik skillz.
Shoutoutz Section
Well, usually when I run out of things to blog about, I throw down a shoutout section. Will you be included in this iteration? Let’s see.
(Shouting): Um, basically I’m bout to throw some shout outs to, let’s see here, um, my babygirl (Maria), my brahski (Benji), Kelly Treleaven for having an awesome blog and beautiful red hair, madsh0utz 2 my brahski Bonez, thx 4 the blogcomments as always… I guess that’s about it. The electronic communication has been a little lacking lately, don’t have that many people in the queue. If you’d like to be included in the next “Personal category” blog, get in e-touch, and we’ll work this out.

311 Self-Titled never ceases to be a sick disc. If you disagree, get off your indie-rock horse and get a little more raw with it, brah. Sick disc. You don’t even have to smoke pot to like it - like most of those satan-worshiping heathenish fans do. Bowels of hell.
A lot of blockquotes this go-around.
